AC program

The AC (advanced camper) program is our leadership program. Our hope is to have the invited girls hone their leadership skills and continue at Tamahay as counselors-in-training and eventually full counselors. This is a four week program. Girls invited into the AC program will choose one or two activity areas to specialize in. They will deepen their knowledge of the activity and learn higher level skills.

ACs also begin to share in some of the responsibilities of the camp community. They help do dishes once a day and help prepare equipment for cookouts and overnights.

During the 4th activity period each day, the ACs work as a group at their permanent campsite. They often are working on advanced projects to make their site more comfortable and exciting to use. They learn to cook in a trashcan oven, reflector ovens, and dutch ovens. They learn more lashing skills and use them to complete projects together.

The AC program is a fun and challenging time for the older campers here at Tamahay.
