This is Blue!

Not everyone has had the opportunity to meet Blue. She has been busy since she got here two years ago helping to raise our foals/yearlings, Lexi and Bailey. She came to us through a friend named Katie; Katie also gave us Lucy a few years ago. Katie knows a lot about horses and when she had to move she decided we were the best home for her very loved girl, Blue. Blue is not young, she is close to 29 years-old. Her birthday is in May. She had babies of her own when she was younger, so she knows all about how to teach young horses manners and what to do as a horse. She got here just in time to get to know Lexi right before Bailey was born. She spent a year teaching Lexi how to behave herself with other horses, then she spent this last summer keeping Bailey company when Lexi and their mother, Whiskey, went to the trainer. We haven’t been able to bring Blue down to the big barn yet because we have needed her so much to help raise the babies, but she has spent lots of time with the horse ACs and she LOVES kids. A few times, over break and when it rains for 3rd hour riding, the campers have been lucky enough to get to feed her peppermints. She LOVES peppermints!!!! She talks about them and gets a little drooly while she waits for them to be unwrapped. Blue also loves applesauce, she will eat a whole jar all at once if she is allowed to. Blue is a very cooperative horse and likes to wear her blanket when it gets really cold and windy. She has a very thick winter coat and doesn’t need a blanket very often, but we put one on if she says she wants to wear it. Blue is very photogenic and knows how to pose when she sees someone taking a picture. We love her so much and hope everyone enjoys getting to know her better.
